3 Easy-to-Achieve Holiday Hairstyles

Holiday party season is in full swing and so are those festive beauty trends. From a beauty perspective, I love this time of year because it brings new opportunities to spice up my look. Pops of red, party up-do's, shimmery highlighter, fun hair accessories, bold eyes – this is the time to get glam and have some fun!

In this post I’m going to focus on HAIR! Below I’m sharing three easy to achieve holiday hairstyles, complete with step-by-step instructions and product information.

May your holiday beauty be merry & bright!

VINTAGE 20s

A century could pass, but some things never go out of style. What better way to ring in the 2020s than with a glamorous Old Hollywood hairstyle inspired by the 1920s!

How I Created this Look:

  • Part dry hair to your preferred side.

  • Starting with the back of your head, take 1 inch sections of hair, curling towards your face.

  • When all sections are curled toward your face, allow curls to fully cool.

  • Once cooled, gently brush through your curls to fluff the hair.

  • Spritz ends with hairspray and apply clips for added touch.

Helpful tips:

  • Use a curling iron with clamp. I have found that a curling wand does not work as well with this style.

  • I recommend clamping the iron higher up on the hair and twisting the barrel as you pull the tail into/around the clamp.

  • Teasing around the crown of your head will give your roots some volume.

GODDESS GLAM

While I love some curls and waves, there is something so chic about a sleek style. Below, I share how I glammed up my simple look with a fun and festive headband!

How I Created this Look:

  • Start by parting dry hair to your preferred side.

  • Spray heat protecting shine spray onto hair, brushing through.

  • Take small sections of hair and flat iron until smooth and straight.

  • Once all hair has been flat ironed, tease crown and smooth down.

  • Place headband and finish look with one last spritz of shine spray.

Helpful tips:

  • To avoid heavy heat damage, focus on straightening the ends opposed to entire length of hair, if possible.

  • I like to bobby pin the sections around my face at the nape of my neck before placing headband. This helps my hair stay put even if the headband shifts.

BRAIDED BEAUTY

This holiday style brings all those Elsa vibes and I do not want to let it go! The best part about this look is that it can be dressed up with a glitzy dress or down with a comfy sweater.

How I Created this Look:

  • Start by parting dry hair to your preferred side.

  • Using 1-1/4 inch curling iron or wand, curl hair away from face and into loose waves.

  • Spray loose waves generously with texture spray, tease underneath the hair and into roots.

  • Separate hair into three large sections, leaving out face framing tendrils, and begin to braid.

  • Once braid is secured with elastic, begin to loosen by lightly tugging and spraying with texture spray to give style hold.

  • Finish with hairspray and add scrunchie or accessories for added touch.

Helpful tips:

  • If you have finer hair like myself, I highly recommend incorporating extensions to add thickness and volume to the look.

  • Instead of braiding to the very ends of your hair, stop about 3/4 of the way down. This will allow you to add some more volume and texture into the ends.

I hope these three beauty looks helped bring you joy and inspiration this season. Wishing you a very happy holiday and a stylish new year!
